SEIU 721 Endorses IRV

The Service Employees International Union (Local 721) has endorsed Instant Runoff Voting (IRV) for the City of Los Angeles. SEIU 721 represents hundreds of thousands of county and city employees across Southern California, including Ventura, Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside counties.
"We are extremely proud to have SEIU 721's endorsement for IRV," said Gautam Dutta of New America Foundation. "We look forward to working with 721 and its members to pass this critical reform that will raise voter turnout and save millions of taxpayer dollars."
Support for IRV spans the labor and business community. IRV has recently been endorsed by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. A number of labor groups and leaders also have endorsed IRV, including United Farm Workers Co-Founder Dolores Huerta, Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance (AFL-CIO), UNITE HERE (Local 11), AFT College Faculty Guild (1521) and AFT College Staff Guild (1521A).
